A festivus for the rest-of-us

Amongst snowboarding and beer i have managed to squeeze out a few measly drawings (only a few of those were done this break). I thought i was going to draw more... go figure eh. I am redesigning a bunch of characters i posted in the summer so when they're done i'll post them. There is still half the break left so we'll see where my creativity takes me... anyway enjoy Christmas tomorrow if that's your bag, if not enjoy another, hopefully nice, dec.25th.

Popeye the Sailor Moon

Ha haha this came up in class the other day, I can't remember why or even who said it but i had a good laugh. So i decided to draw er up and color it in...sorry for the small image...but enjoy never the less.

Here it is, my final animation for the first semester of Commercial Animation. This one was actually pissing me off for a while, I don't know why, but it's okay now, I'm not sure if I'm totally proud of it but it'll pass...so enjoy Willie getting hit on the head with a boot!

Here is our final project for design class. The project was design characters from wizard of oz, if you can't tell I've done the Scarecrow, Flying Monkey and the Cowardly Lion. Lately I've been watching Guy Ritchie movies like snatch and lockstock, so I thought it would be sweet to model my characters in that style. Also here I have some expressions, poses, a turn-around and some props :)

Panther of the Pink...

Here is the pink panther animation I did a little while ago, i'll upload a few more later....

Did someone call for a nurse...yes...yes they did...

In the last five minutes I've re-thought the characters a hundred times.... I was origionaly going for the Nazi, but then i figured they looked too happy and cheerful to fit that ( not that all nazi's in the world war are evil swine...I figure a good lot of em were the same type of soldiers that were on this side...but i figure it just looked funny)...I was going to redo the nurse to fit a more "european" look but then i decided to pull em onto this side of the battle and just remove the Nazi symbol. Go figure eh...so here's my nurse and "doctor" of the 1940's World War II.

I just noticed I use "..." a lot. Well ya know what i say to that... piss off it's my blog I can ignore all the grammar I want to, ha ha...enjoy!

Dr.Robin Hood?.....

Here is our newest assignment. A simple Robin Hood character design and an additional pose (which i have to do and i'll post later). I was going for a sort of "Bruce Timm" style...anyway, enjoy!

This would be our second assignement for our design class. Given a breif description we had to design the fesity Dr.Hobson.

Our first assignment for out design class. We had to design a "Calvin and Hobbes" style character and then put him in three different poses.

Shark vs Bear!

Hehehe! The weirdest thing is that since ive started school i havnt really drawn much. Well not much i can post :S So here is a bear fighting a shark. I also painted the epic battle on my sketch book.

Animal House

So heres an idea for a show that me and a few of my friends have been kickin around. Everything is still in works, I'm not sure if the styles are exactly the same as each other but its gettin there. Each one of the animals is pretty much one of us based on what we rag on each other about. For instance the tutle is me because i eat really really slow. We have been also been kickin around some scenario ideas but its all up in the air....but enjoy!

This is a guy who lives at a site we maintain. My boss think he's a creeper but i think he's just plain awsome, on rare occasian he'll loosen a few buttons on his shirt to show off his fine silver chest hair!

Rafting!

On saturday me and the fellas went river rafting up in Chilliwack, it was a blast. We were doin very well until at the end when we lost ian. He had to sail down a few rapids alone until he made it to shore, it was hilarious!

Ahh the fruits of summer.....

Guadalupe

Yeah i know, a little intense, but it's at the request of my good friend Jon, tattoo request that is. A little interesting fact about Guadalupe, in mexico the christians pray to her as christians here would pray to jesus. The reason for this is because Hernán Cortés, who was such a brutal tyrant, brought small pox with him and gave it to the aztecs, looks a lot like jesus. So they pray to the virgin mary instead, which in mexico she is refered to as Guadalupe.

Angels

Here's an angel tattoo my brother asked me to design for him, i wasn't really into it to begin with but i'm really diggin it now. I think it turned out really well, but i would like some feedback on this sorta thing, i'm always open to ideas. I have a large list of tattoo drawings/ideas that im workin on now which should be fun, i find it helps me try to draw new things that i wouldn't normaly draw. Does anyone else find that when people figure out you can draw they ask for you to draw their tattoo, that happens to me all the time. *** On closer inspection i'm not a fan of the wings at all, they remind me of the wings on those flying monkeys on the wizard of oz! So i'm gonna play with it some more...(thats what she said)....hahahahaha.*** Wings fixed, i think they fit her much better:)

I wasn't really aware this movie was of any interest to me, but turns out it's hilarious, great flick. So i thought i'd do a little sketch of "The Dude" and Walter doing their thing. (For anyone who dosn't know, the movie is The Big Lebowski)

Rainnnnnn

Let's just say that the rain isnt making working outside any easier!

Shiver me timbers that was a long one...

The 3rd pirates movie was very entertaining, but too long, i dont think any movie should be that long. Other than that for what it was i was very pleased, not to mention blown away by the animation of davy jones and the crew, unbelieveable. Anway here's Davy Jones pickin at his ear, i wonder what he does with that crazy finger of his, ha ha.

Mowing me over

So this damn mower (at my landscaping job) was just being a total douche, and i felt like this all day. Until i told on it and it went away :D

Spider-fan

I hope this guy wasn't as disapointed by the new spider-man movie as i was.

In the window

I did this one a while ago but i found it today and i thought it was cool, so i thought I'd post it.

Wolverine Style!

In light of spider-man coming out theres been a lot of super hero drawings popping up, I thought i'd jump on that train. Here's a funny one of wolverine with a sort of "Ren and Stimpy" twist. I've also added another one of wolverine that i found, i think it's beautiful. His expression is so peaceful and the water colour just adds to the peaceful flow.

A couple day's later and the results are in( I really thought it would take longer). I've been accepted to capilano college! Very exciting stuff, if you can't tell how excited I am, I've added a little doodle to further explain my excitment. I dont know what I'm going to do with myself since the last 4 months have been devoted to making a successful porfolio. I think I'll work on some paintings that i've been tossing around in my head. Anway, that's all i have to say and post at the moment so enjoy my doodle! Cheers

So here is my complete portfolio I've submitted to Capilano College. I would really like some feedback especially from anyone else who has applied for the Commercial Animation course starting in the fall. I would also like to see some of the work that others have submitted, it's nice to see the competition....anyway, enjoy!
