You'll have to excuse my lack of posting. I have no good reason other than being too lazy to clean my drawings and not lazy enough to post the raw sketches. That being said I'm going to do my best to bring you said drawings.

So a few weeks ago I wrapped up at Studio B working on My Little Pony as a layout artist. It feels like only yesterday that I was a fresh faced young lad starting a new and exciting job. I had a great time there and had the chance to meet some awesome people. Please check it out below, I had the pleasure of working on every third episode so watch, laugh, cry, and discover the magic of friendship.

As of now I've started at Bardel doing CG character animation so hopefully I'll get some demoreel worthy animation.

Oh and another thing. I wrote a review of my two years in the Animation program at cap for artschoolreivews.ca. I was asked to write it in May but I procrastinated all summer and finally finished it by the end of august. It was nice to reflect back on the two years so I don't know why I was putting it off. Anyway HERE is the review. Give it five stars.

A Real Canadian Winter break....

I know i have been slacking on my posts latley BUT I have been off school after an intense two weeks so that merrits a little away time this here blog. That's not to say I haven't been drawing and painting it up.

I had a very relaxing and enjoyable winter break and by the end it felt like a true Canadian one. We got a huge dump of snow here in Vancouer, I know all of Canada got snow, but we usually don't get snow around Christmas... especially this much!

Amidst the snow I managed to go see the Canucks play the Blackhawks, we lost, but it was my first Canucks game so I had a great time anyway...

... and beer is bloody expensive at GM place.

I painted this on Canvas for my sister for Christmas. Graffiti is not really my thang but I thought I'd give it a try. I'm not gonna lie i used a lot of reference from Google...but she really liked it so that's all that matters.

I can't forget about snowboarding. Since i may not get a whole lot time during my last semester, I tried to get up to the mountain as much as possible. Sometimes the conditions weren't great.

With a little convincing my friends got me to join them in drop-in ice hockey. I was a pretty intimidated, it was my first time, by all the other guys skating around the rink. However, after a few minutes on the ice I could not wait till my next shift.

I'm stoked to play again, maybe next time I'll get a shot on goal.

Also over the break i was lucky enough to get a job painting some murals at a local gym I used to work at. All of these are going to be part of a new Children's Activity center that will attached to the gym. The Monkey character is part of the franchise.

This is one of 2 walls that i painted in the party fasion.

I created this character to go with the slogan, located above the stairs so kids will see it on their way out.

And this one is located in the lobby entrance. The first thing seen when entering the building.

I'm planning on building upon this by the end of april so my loyal fan(s) will have that to look forward to. Our final animation of this semester. Single dialogue with acting, I think it turned out pretty nice. Stoked for next semester when I can do more...perhaps with my own characters, I think those will look much better on a reel, but it's a nice start. :)

Animation number 4...and it's a big one (that's what she said). I timed out the poses and it was about 400 frames, after all was said and done it turned out to be 600 frames... go figure eh. I'm quite happy with it though, enjoy!

NINJA TURTLES!!... who didn't see this coming. I think i had almost every toy when i was a kid even the technodrome, and I found all the original episodes on DVD so I can re-live my childhood everyday. I don't mind the new one on TV, they don't seem as characterized as the old show but they should have pupils, I think they'd seem more human and relate-able with pupils. anyway enjoy Michelangelo (no doubt the sweetest of the four)

Why hello there... I feel like this blog is the child i'm always neglecting for beer and life and drawing...but I'm here now it's okay...I promise I'll be at your ball game...you have my word. Anyway here is my model pack for second semester...It's Circus Mafia! I wanted to do something either circus or mafia (they are both efin sweet) so i realised "why not combine them", this works in most situations, take for example PB and J sandwhiches or pizza...however be aware it may not always work with combinations such as cats and dogs or your girlfriend and her sister. I have some more work to finish and post later this week such as my layouts and animation...and if you eat your vegatables i might treat you to a short film :)

I saw this movie the other day and i thought it was just brilliant. I'm a huge fan of Johnny Depp and a bigger fan of Tim Burton, The story was killer, characters were awesome and the ending was just poetic. Wasn't sure if the musical-ness was going to work but it just made the film even more unique...but anyway i was so inspired i had to draw the demon barber himself...Sweeney Todd. enjoy! Here is our final project for design class. The project was design characters from wizard of oz, if you can't tell I've done the Scarecrow, Flying Monkey and the Cowardly Lion. Lately I've been watching Guy Ritchie movies like snatch and lockstock, so I thought it would be sweet to model my characters in that style. Also here I have some expressions, poses, a turn-around and some props :)

In the last five minutes I've re-thought the characters a hundred times.... I was origionaly going for the Nazi, but then i figured they looked too happy and cheerful to fit that ( not that all nazi's in the world war are evil swine...I figure a good lot of em were the same type of soldiers that were on this side...but i figure it just looked funny)...I was going to redo the nurse to fit a more "european" look but then i decided to pull em onto this side of the battle and just remove the Nazi symbol. Go figure eh...so here's my nurse and "doctor" of the 1940's World War II.

I just noticed I use "..." a lot. Well ya know what i say to that... piss off it's my blog I can ignore all the grammar I want to, ha ha...enjoy!

Hehehe! The weirdest thing is that since ive started school i havnt really drawn much. Well not much i can post :S So here is a bear fighting a shark. I also painted the epic battle on my sketch book.

So heres an idea for a show that me and a few of my friends have been kickin around. Everything is still in works, I'm not sure if the styles are exactly the same as each other but its gettin there. Each one of the animals is pretty much one of us based on what we rag on each other about. For instance the tutle is me because i eat really really slow. We have been also been kickin around some scenario ideas but its all up in the air....but enjoy!

This is a guy who lives at a site we maintain. My boss think he's a creeper but i think he's just plain awsome, on rare occasian he'll loosen a few buttons on his shirt to show off his fine silver chest hair!

On saturday me and the fellas went river rafting up in Chilliwack, it was a blast. We were doin very well until at the end when we lost ian. He had to sail down a few rapids alone until he made it to shore, it was hilarious!

Guadalupe

Yeah i know, a little intense, but it's at the request of my good friend Jon, tattoo request that is. A little interesting fact about Guadalupe, in mexico the christians pray to her as christians here would pray to jesus. The reason for this is because Hernán Cortés, who was such a brutal tyrant, brought small pox with him and gave it to the aztecs, looks a lot like jesus. So they pray to the virgin mary instead, which in mexico she is refered to as Guadalupe.
